How it is counted

Standards badge

A business earns it for a quarter when all four of these are true on the day it is counted:

1. 1The business has claimed its page, by email or by a text message code.
2. 2At least 3 of its published projects each carry a project type, a suburb, the year it was finished and a cost. A cost is a figure or a price bracket the builder gave.
3. 3In the last 12 months, at least one of its published projects went live or had one of these facts changed.
4. 4Of the enquiries it received in the last 90 days, at least 9 in 10 had a reply we can see within 24 hours. If it received none, this check does not apply and does not count against it.

These four facts decide it, and nothing else.

Period

Badges run by calendar quarter, Sydney time, and are recounted on 1 January, 1 April, 1 July and 1 October. A company page shows the current quarter only. A business that stops meeting the four keeps the record of earlier quarters.

What counts

A project counts when it is published on this site, is not a sample, and names the business in its credits.

An enquiry counts when it was sent to the business through this site. A reply counts when we can see it: a reply written here, or the business marking the enquiry answered. An enquiry less than 24 hours old with no reply yet is left out until its day is up.

Most active in a suburb

For each suburb we count, per business, the published projects there whose cost was added or updated in the last 90 days. The business with the most holds the place, if it has at least 2.

When two businesses have the same count, the one that reached it first holds the place.

The 90 days roll forward: the count is redone every day, and the place goes to whoever the facts point to that day.
